Conflux Group 🩷 ExpressionEngine

We built our business on ExpressionEngine and still support clients running it today. Whether you need updates, upgrades, or a plan for what's next, we've got you covered.

ExpressionEngine holds a special place in our story. It's the platform we cut our teeth on, and we've been working with it for well over a decade. We know it inside and out, from its powerful content modeling to its template engine to the quirks you only learn after years of hands-on experience.

A Platform We Know Deeply

ExpressionEngine took a different approach to content management from the start. Instead of locking your content into rigid page or post formats, EE lets you define custom content types that match your actual needs. Events, team members, product listings, case studies. Whatever your content looks like, ExpressionEngine can model it cleanly.

That separation of content from presentation was ahead of its time, and it's still one of EE's biggest strengths. Your templates are plain HTML with EE tags mixed in, which means your front end is never limited by someone else's theme. We can build exactly the site you need.

Despite it's long history, ExpressionEngine continues to be maintained by a dedicated team. It's stable, reliable, and still a solid choice for many types of websites.

What We Help With

Whether you're running a long-standing EE site or exploring your options, we can help. Here's what we typically work on with ExpressionEngine clients:

  • Site maintenance and updates to keep your EE installation secure and running smoothly
  • Version upgrades from older EE versions to the latest release, including data migration and add-on compatibility
  • Custom add-on development when off-the-shelf solutions don't quite fit
  • Performance improvements for sites that have grown over the years
  • Template redesigns to modernize your site's look and feel without rebuilding the backend
  • Migration planning if you're considering moving to a different platform like Craft CMS or WordPress
  • Troubleshooting for those tricky issues that come with older or complex EE installations

Should You Stay on ExpressionEngine?

This is a question we get a lot, and the honest answer is: it depends. ExpressionEngine is still a capable platform, and if your site is working well and meeting your needs, there's no reason to jump ship just because something newer exists.

But if you're finding that your EE site is getting harder to maintain, or you need features that would be easier to implement on a more modern platform, we can help you think through your options. We've migrated plenty of EE sites to Craft CMS and other platforms, and we can give you a realistic picture of what that process looks like, what it costs, and whether it's worth it.

We'll always give you our honest recommendation. We're not going to push you toward a migration you don't need, and we're not going to keep you on a platform that's holding you back.

Our EE Background

We've been building ExpressionEngine sites since 2010. We've seen it through major version changes and the evolution of the web development landscape around it. That history gives us perspective that's hard to find elsewhere.

We've also built strong relationships in the ExpressionEngine community over the years. If there's a challenge we haven't solved before, chances are good we know someone who has.
